Media Advisory: 514th Return Home
What/ When: Soldiers from the North Carolina National Guard from the 514 Military Police Company are expected to return home from a 12-month mobilization supporting the Southwest Border, Nov. 15, 2024. Approximately fifty Soldiers who work and train at the Winterville Armory are expected to land at the Pitt-Greenville Airport, between 1430 and 1600, with a welcome back water salute and a public greeting from family and friends.
Background:
Soldiers from the 514th Military Police Company, 109 Military Police Battalion, mobilized in October 2023 to Ft. Bliss, Texas with a follow-on mission of supporting U.S Customs and Border Protection’s security mission along the southwest border. The 514th MP company, commanded by Capt. Katherine Cook, mobilized more than 120 Soldiers and was part of the 4,000 service members currently authorized to support the mission. Leaders from the NC National Guard and local representatives are expected to attend the welcome home greeting. A welcome home ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks.
Families, friends, and interested parties will be present at Pitt-Greenville Airport to greet the returning troops.

Fiscal year 2023-2024 Budget Proposal is to be Voted on at the June 21, 2023 Airport Authority Board meeting. The Pitt Greenville Airport Authority Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget has been submitted to the Pitt Greenville Airport Authority Board on May 17, 2023 and is available for public inspection. A public hearing is scheduled for June 21, 2023 at 10:45am located at the Pitt Greenville Airport Authority Fire Rescue Building prior to the Pitt Greenville Airport Board Authority Meeting held at 11:00am.
The Pitt Greenville Airport Authority voted and approved at Wednesday May 17,2023 PGV Airport Authority Board Meeting to move all future Airport Authority Board Meetings to 11am.
A Motion to approve was made by Christopher Nunnally, seconded by Terry Monday. Motion was unanimous, motion carried, motion approved.
The Pitt Greenville Airport Authority voted and approved at todays PGV Airport Authority Board Meeting to move the April 19, 2023 Pitt Greenville Airport Authority Board meeting to April 26, 2023 at 11am being held in Airport Fire Rescue building.

The Pitt-Greenville Airport Authority is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified Aviation consultants for engineering, planning and general consulting services related to work at the Pitt-Greenville Airport. Work is anticipated to be accomplished through a combination of Local funds, FAA and State grants.
The work includes, but is not limited to land use planning, environmental analysis, and engineering studies; land acquisition assistance; grading, drainage, utilities, airfield and roadway pavements; hangars, terminal building, fueling systems, and storm water improvements; obstruction analysis and removal; airfield lighting, signage, and NAVAIDs; and other related work at the Pitt-Greenville Airport. Qualifications Statements are due by Friday, February 10, 2023 and addressed to Kim W. (Bill) Hopper, A.A.E., Executive Director, Pitt Greenville Airport Authority, 400 Airport Road, Greenville, North Carolina 27834. In compliance with the Federal Regulations, 49 CFR Part 26, the Airport is in the process of developing its FY 2022 – FY 2024 Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program goal update.
We are soliciting input and feedback from representatives of minority and women-owned businesses to assist the Airport in the establishment of its DBE goals. We invite you to participate in a meeting to discuss the proposed goals, as well as the availability of potential DBEs at the Pitt-Greenville Airport, opportunities for DBEs, and the Airport’s effort to increase DBE participation.

A Pre-Bid Meeting for the “Corporate Hangars 27, 28 & 29” project at Pitt-Greenville Airport was originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 11 am in the airport conference room, as listed in the bid advertisement in the Daily Reflector and the Daily Drum on June 17, 2021.
The Pre-Bid Meeting has been postponed due to project scope changes.
The bid date will also be postponed.

Effective November 5, 2020, American Airlines is resuming service at Pitt Greenville Airport to the vast network offered through its Charlotte hub.
“We are delighted for the return to service in time for the holiday travel season”, says PGV Executive Director Bill Hopper. “Greenville and its neighboring communities in Eastern North Carolina will continue to enjoy the great connectivity at American’s Charlotte hub.”
This past August, American Airlines announced that due to the sharp decrease in travel demand resulting from the pandemic, that it would suspend flights at 15 of its smaller airports. The suspension is October 7 to November 4, 2020, and Pitt-Greenville Airport was included as one of those airports.
