The US Special Olympics Basketball Team representing North Carolina, toured Pitt-Greenville Airport on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 6 pm. This was set up in response to many of the team members stating that they had never flown before. They are scheduled to fly in a private jet from Raleigh to Orland, FL on June 3, 2022.
They were an enthusiastic group, and had really good questions about the upcoming experience, and were vocal about their fears. A licensed pilot from Dillon’s Aviation allowed them to tour a Cessna Citation 680, here on the airport property. He answered all of their questions, and spoke to them about the flying experience as a pilot and a passenger.
We wish them all the best, and look forward to a triumphant return back to Greenville.
